palm reading by destiny

I love this weather. The rain, the wind, the cold (don't let this picture throw you off). The electricity had even gone out for awhile. I was enjoying the peace and quiet and settling in on the couch to read when an hour later it came back on...ugh. So now the television is blaring, I just finished the spaghetti sauce, and I'm writing my latest diary entry.

The weather was nice Saturday night when I camped out at the beach (above) with Kawika and Char...and while I was there I got my palm read by a girl named Destiny. She's studying acupuncture in some school at a Taoist Monastery. Anyways, she mentioned that they teach how to read palms. So, of course, everyone who was within hearing distance wanted their palm read. Including me. With flashlight in hand, she began to read my palm. And suprisingly, much of what she said was true.

Here's what she said:

1. I have a tendency to start things and not follow through. I get really excited about something and then just lose my passion for it. (Example: I have changed my major 3 times. Journalism, Art (photography), and now Fashion. I studied Tahitian dance and quit after 2 months.)
2. I have a great intuition but don't trust it. (I always have a "feeling" about things...but constantly question it. I am almost never confident about the decisions I make.)
3. I have an old soul. Throughout my life I have always had a certain knowledge and wisdom about things...life. Its something I don't know how I acquired, because its not through personal experience. Its from a past life. (Hmm...well I have kind of always felt that I have had this certain understanding about people and life that my friends didn't. More noticably so when I was younger.)
4. It won't be till I move away and come back home will my parents and family see me as others will see me. For the person I am and all that I will be able to do. (For this she used Jesus as an example. How Jesus went away from his home and preached and performed miracles and had all these people praising him...but back home, his friends didn't understand. Like, what's the big deal? I'm not quite sure how to understand this one, but I guess its a good thing.)
5. I am close to my family, but there is alot they don't know about me and alot I don't want to share. (This is true. Shannon said, "Oh, but everyone's that way. That's so common." I don't know. But she didn't say that to anyone else that night.)
6. I'm very lustful. When I want something, I have to have it. (Hmmm...yeah...she used the word something. Not someONE. But her eyes and her smirk said she was talking about lusting as in lusting after people. Maybe she didn't want me to sound like a slut with everyone around. Ha, ha, ha.)
7. I have good buisness sense. I would do well having my own buisness. (This is a revelation to me.)
8. I will do a lot of traveling in my lifetime. (Yay!)
9. As far as relationships go, I have several prospects. Either people I want to be with or people who want to be with me. (This is good.)
10. I am very hospitable...a good hostess. I like making people feel comfortable, and I tend to take care of others. Sometimes to the point where I forget to take care of myself. (This is very very true...Regg is a good example.)

Anyhow, thats all I can remember. She used my right palm to read my past and my left to read my future. Or it could be the other way around. It made for an intresting night, I must say.

Well, I'm scared the electricity is going to shut off and I'm going to lose all I wrote, so I'm going to end this here.
